Illinois’s solar power scene is headed for brighter times after Governor Pat Quinn passed two laws on Tuesday(19 August 2010)  that strengthen homeowners’ solar installation rights and direct utilities to meet existing solar purchasing deadlines.

China's wind power industry is facing three bottlenecks

According to the China Electricity Council statistics, in 2009 China's total wind power installed capacity reached 22 million kilowatts, and the network unit is only 16.13 million kilowatts, and the network unit is not more than 1 / 4.

UK wind power generation increases

According to statistics released by trade organisation RenewableUK, wind power generation increased by almost one third last year in comparison to 2008.

During 2009, the UK produced 9,304Gwh of electric power from wind energy sources - which is enough to provide power to more than two million homes, the organisation claims.

The Cider Press will use the electricity generated by the water wheel
An old water wheel at Dartington Cider Press in Devon has been refurbished and is now generating electricity.

The wheel, which is driven by water brought in a leat from Bidwell Brook, was originally used to power the looms which made Dartington tweed.

China is expected to reach to a installed capacity of 300,000 KW in 2020 according to the state tidal power generation  planning.
China has a very long shoreline with a 0.11 billion KW of tidal energy, a total potential installed capacity of 2.179 million kW and annaual energy output of 62.4 billion kWh.
